As much as I love the game Combat itself can't carry the whole game! its fun for sure has a lot of depth for depth if your looking for crazy combos and self expression but what's all of that if it lacked amongst other things no good enemies, no good encounters, no good arenas, no good boss fights, no challenge, your sitting on a good combat that does not balanced against the enemies and bosses, I only wish for the series recognition that can put a challenge against other games. I wish the success of this game allows the developers to look back and take notes what makes this series good, interesting enemies, good boss fights and challenging gameplay, and look for other games for improvement as well. Also I hate how Vergil is too inferior compared to his DMC3 counterpart.

Thier attack patterns are also pretty clumsy i've never played an action game were enemies takes a huge amount of times to attack the player.įor bosses they're most just huge hitboxes that covers the whole screen their attacks like many others are very slow both attacking and moving, you also get a lot of free hitting moments without player risk, their phases are also petty as there's no interesting moveset added during those fights. Here you have weak fragile enemies that are mostly passive throughout the game and in all difficulties, not to mention enemy placement on an arena are non existent as you mostly get the same enemies of the same type in each arena hurting variety of battles, enemy moveset is all pretty lackluster most enemies lacks moves that interacts with the player, no launcher, no charge attacks, no projectiles, no anti-air, and no fast movements. It baffles me how this game was known for its difficulty and challenging enemy design for it's time, but here we are in DMC5, almost nothing has ever passed down from the previous games to make this even challenging or even hard, not to mention that the last decade the industry have repopularize hardcore action games.
